The “Truth in Taxation” notice below is being published as required by Arizona state law to inform residents of the proposed property tax levy. Casa Grande’s Mayor and City Council remain committed to maintaining the city property tax rate at $0.9999, as they have done for several years.

A public hearing regarding Casa Grande’s proposed property tax levy will take place at the City Council meeting on Monday, July 17 at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, located at 510 E. Florence Blvd, Casa Grande, AZ 85122.

Despite the anticipated increase in tax revenue, the City will be adopting a property tax rate that is exactly the same as it was last year. Provided the average homeowner does not experience a substantial increase in the home’s assessed valuation, as determined by the Pinal County Assessor’s Office, most residents will experience little change in their total City of Casa Grande tax bill.

The amount of property tax paid is based on two factors: the tax levy set by the city and the assessed value of the property (as determined by the county).

Truth in Taxation Hearing: Notice of Tax Increase

In compliance with section 42-17107, Arizona Revised Statutes, the City of Casa Grande is notifying its property taxpayers of Casa Grande’s intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year’s level. Casa Grande is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $28,359 or 0.81%.

For example, the proposed tax increase will cause Casa Grande’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to increase from $99.18 (total taxes that would be owed without the proposed tax increase) to $99.99 (total proposed taxes including the tax increase).

This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.
