Do you want to make a difference in your community? Consider applying for an open seat on the Board of Adjustment. This 7-member citizen committee is responsible for the following:
- To hold public hearings and make decisions on requests from property owners for variances from the requirements of the City’s zoning and development regulations.
- To hear and decide appeals on any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by an administrative official regarding the City’s zoning or development regulations.
- To hear appeals regarding City land dedication or exaction requirements.
- To hear appeals from code enforcement actions, including Notice & Orders and direct abatement activities.
- To make rulings on applications for Temporary Use and Special Use Permits.
Role of Board Members:
- Attend meetings which are typically held once a month on the evening of the 2nd Tuesday.
- Hold public hearings.
- Make decisions on variance, temporary use, and appeal applications.
