CITY OF CASA GRANDE PUBLIC LIBRARY:

Food for Fines
The City of Casa Grande Public Library will be accepting non-perishable food items to "pay" for overdue fines every day during the month of November. Patrons may bring one food item for each $1.00 owed in overdue fines. All food collected will be donated to the Casa Grande Food Bank. Food items may not be used to clear charges for damaged or replacement items.

S.P.A.R.C. (Students Participating in an Advisory Reading Committee)
This student council-type group of young adults meets every week to hang out, discuss books, help with library programs, and select items for the young adult collection at the Main Library. If you are between the ages of 13 to 17 and would like to join S.P.A.R.C. or would like more information, please stop by the library for one of our meetings. These meetings are held every Monday at 4:30 p.m. in the youth librarian's office at the City of Casa Grande Public Library.

Preschool Storytime
Please join the youth librarian for approximately a half hour of stories, songs, and a simple craft! All children are welcome; however, this program is generally suitable for ages 3 - 5. No registration is required but attendance is limited, so please be on time. This free event is set for 10:30 a.m, Tuesday, November 17th in the APS Community room. This will be the last Preschool Storytime held until January 2010.

Lapsit Storytime
Please join the youth librarian for 20 minutes of stories, songs, puppet shows, rhymes, and fingerplays. All children are welcome; however this program is generally suitable for ages 6 mo. - 2. No registration is required but attendance is limited, so please be on time. This storytime will be held Wednesday, November 18th at 10:30 a.m. in the APS Community room. This will be the last Lapsit Storytime held until January 2010.

Storytime during the Holidays
Due to lower attendance during the holidays, the regularly scheduled Preschool and Lapsit Storytimes will resume on January 5th and 6th. However, a once-a-week storytime will continue to be held in the APS Room beginning on Tuesday, November 24th at 10:30 a.m. Parents, this is your chance to be the storyteller! Each week, you can bring one of your favorite stories to share. There will be a coloring activity afterward. Please contact Julie Lash for more information or if you have any questions regarding this program.

Thanksgiving Puppet Show and Craft
Children of all ages are welcome to come to the City of Casa Grande Public Library for a puppet show, Where the Wild Things Are, based on the children’s book by Maurice Sendak. After the puppet show, a Thanksgiving themed craft will be provided for kids to make and take home just in time for the holiday. No registration is required, but parents, are required to attend the program with their child(ren). This program will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in the APS Community room at the Library.

Technology Classes
Our computer and technology classes will be held in the new computer learning lab in the downstairs part of the library. Please submit a registration form to sign up for the class. Call Kevin Fahey at 520-421-8710 x5240 if you have any questions.

-Basic Excel
Would you like to use Microsoft Excel for your business but have never used it? Have you used Excel but feel you need to refresh your knowledge of the program? Come to our Basic Excel class Tuesday, November 17th from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and learn what Excel can do for you!

-Camera to Computer
Learn to transfer your photos from your digital camera to a computer and the internet. Share your photos with your friends, family, or the world. Please bring your digital camera and cords. Class will be held on Saturday, November 21st, 9:15-10:45 a.m.

VISTA GRANDE PUBLIC LIBRARY:

Teen Group
Vista Grande Library's Teen Group meets each Monday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. We are looking for teens interested in discussing books, volunteering in the library, and even suggesting ways to make the library more fun for you. We look forward to seeing you on Mondays.
