Library News CASA GRANDE TECHNOLOGY CLASSES
Our computer and technology classes will be held in the new computer learning lab in the downstairs part of the library. Please submit a registration form to sign up for the class. Call Kevin Fahey at 520-421-8710 x5240 if you have any questions.

Feeling baffled on how to navigate the internet? Wanting to set up an e-mail account but not sure how to do it? Stop in to our Basic Internet and Email class Tuesday October 13 from 5:15-6:45pm and start surfing the web.
-CREATE A RESUME
Learn how Microsoft Word can help you to organize and create a professional looking resume. Bring your work related information to the class on Saturday October 17, 9:15-10:45am.
S.P.A.R.C. (Students Participating in an Advisory Reading Committee)
This student council-type group of young adults meets every week to hang out, discuss books, help with library programs, and select items for the young adult collection at the Main Library. If you are between the ages of 13 to 17 and would like to join S.P.A.R.C. or would like more information, please stop by the library for one of our meetings. These meetings are held every Monday at 4:30 p.m. in the youth librarian's office at the City of Casa Grande Public Library.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
Please join the youth librarian for approximately a half hour of stories, songs, and a simple craft or snack! All children are welcome; however, this program is generally suitable for ages 4 - 6. No registration is required but attendance is limited, so please be on time. This free event is set for 10:30 a.m.Tuesdays in the APS Community room at the City of Casa Grande Public Library--Main Library.
LAPSIT STORYTIME
Please join the youth librarian for 20-25 minutes of stories, songs, puppet shows, rhymes, and fingerplays. All children are welcome; however this program is generally suitable for ages 1 - 3. No registration is required but attendance is limited, so please be on time. This storytime is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the APS Community room at the City of Casa Grande Public Library--Main Library.
GED CLASSES AT CASA GRANDE LIBRARY
There will be GED classes held at the Casa Grande Public Library for those who plan to take the GED and would like to prepare for it.
-GED Math
This class focuses on aiding students with their math skills and is on Monday & Wednesday 4:00-5:00 p.m. The class usually takes between six to eight weeks depending on the needs of the students enrolled.
OCT 15-20 DATES OF LIMITED SERVICES
The City of Casa Grande Public Library will be joining the Pinal County Library system October 15-20, 2009. During this time, the Casa Grande and Vista Grande libraries will be open regular hours, but the following services will be unavailable: new library card registration; renewal of library materials; payments of fines; hold requests; and check-in of returned materials. These services will be available during this time: public computer access and check-out of materials.
CASA GRANDE LIBRARY CLOSED OCT 21-22; VISTA GRANDE LIBRARY OPEN
In addition, the Casa Grande Library will be closed October 21-22, 2009. The Vista Grande Library will remain open 8am-5pm on these days.
NEW AND EXPANDED LIBRARY SERVICES
When the Casa Grande Library reopens on October 23, both the Vista Grande and the Casa Grande libraries will offer new and expanded services. Users will be able to check all materials out for 3 weeks with the exception of movies, place holds on items from other Pinal County libraries and have them delivered to either library, and use only one card at all libraries in Pinal County. However, we will no longer be able to give a grace period for any overdue item. Fines will start to be charged on the first day after the item is due.
