Healthy food demonstrations will also be held weekly and prepared by Center staff. Youth will be required to provide a school ID or something equivalent when checking out Center equipment, i.e. balls, jump ropes, hoola hoops, etc.
ASKC HOMEWORK HOUR
Monday through Thursday, from 3:00-4:00 pm, staff and volunteers will be available to assist with school homework. Youth will be encouraged to participate in reading, educational computer games or class projects during this time.
HOMEWORK & HELP CHART
As an incentive to participate in the Homework Hour OR to assist with various tasks around the LCRC, staff have created The Homework & Help Chart. Youth who complete their homework during the homework hour or complete another assignment given by staff earn points towards prizes in our Treasure Chest of Mystery. Children can also earn points by lending an extra hand to the staff when it is needed. At the end of the year, a pizza and ice cream party will be held for those children who complete the Homework & Help Chart.
