City of Casa Grande

The Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association awarded the City of Casa Grande, the Best General Plan at the 2009 APA Arizona Conference held October 15 in Prescott Valley. Congratulations to the Planning & Development Department and all those who helped create the General Plan 2020.

The Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association is a 1,400-plus member organization of professional planners and planning officials who serve Arizona’s communities in many ways, at all levels of government, the private sector and not-for-profit organizations. The organization held an awards ceremony honoring the best of planning projects, programs and persons.

It describes the current conditions in the City of Casa Grande and identifies preliminary issues relevant to the update of the 2020 General Plan update. This report details conditions specific to Casa Grande in the areas of locational context, demographics, housing and economic development, land use, historic preservation, transportation, environment and water and wastewater. The information provided in this Existing Conditions Report is intended to provide a basis for community discussions that will inform the City of Casa Grande General Plan Update 2020.
