"A Leash on Life" Dog Park Now Open The park's name was created by 5-year-old Sienna Farley, who entered the selection in the Name the Dog Park Contest.  She is pictured here with Mayor Pro Tempore Karl Peterson.


Dog Park Rules


--Pick up any waste  left by the dog

 

--Keep dogs on a leash until the dog owner or custodian is within the fenced area and the gate has been fully closed after entry,

-- Maintain voice control over their animal and keep them in sight,

-- Never leave a dog unattended,

-- Adhere to a three dogs per person per visit limit,

-- Immediately leash their animal if it exhibits aggressive behavior, then leave the dog park area,

-- Not bring to the park dogs with a known history of dangerous behavior,

-- Refrain from grooming dogs in the park,

-- Only bring to the park dogs that are at least 4 months old and are licensed and vaccinated,

-- Only bring to the park animals that have been spayed or neutered and never bring female dogs in heat into exercise areas,

-- Refrain from smoking and consuming alcoholic beverages and food within the fenced areas, and

-- Leave all food, treats and special toys at home or bring at own risk

 

 

 

The facility is not intended for toddlers or small children. Because dogs are often unpredictable around youngsters, park visitors should not bring children under the age of 12 into the park.
