Mutt Show & License/Rabies Clinic, February 4
The Parks & Recreation Division is hosting its annual Mutt Show on Saturday, February 4th from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at “A Leash on Life Dog Park” located by the Paul Mason Sportsplex. (2525 N. Pinal Ave.) Bring your mutts and enter them in one of our fun contest categories. The contests are free to enter. We will be awarding prizes in the following categories: Biggest Dog, Smallest Dog, Cutest Puppy, Fluffiest Dog, Longest Ears, Shortest Tail, Best Dancer, Most Unusual, Most Beautiful, Most Handsome, Curliest Tail, Best Dressed, and one very special dog will be named The Casa Grande Mutt of the Year. New Category this year: Dog/Owner Look Alike Contest!!

The City of Casa Grande Animal Care & Adoption Center will also be having a rabies and license clinic during the Mutt Show. You MUST bring proof that your animal has been spayed or neutered along with current vaccination information. Please remember that rabies vaccination and licensing is required for all dogs, cats and ferrets over 4 months old residing in Casa Grande.

Mutt Show Coloring Contest Forms Now Available
The Parks & Recreation Division is currently accepting entries for the annual Mutt Show Coloring Contest. Forms may be picked up at the Parks & Recreation Office, 404 E. Florence Blvd. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories (by grade); Kindergarten – 1st grade, 2nd – 3rd grade and 4th – 5th grade. Coloring Contest entry forms will also be available at our Mutt Show event on Saturday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Leash on Life Dog Park located next to the Paul Mason Sportsplex. Senior Follies: A Senior Talent Showcase, February 11
The inaugural Senior Follies will provide an electric combination of talent over the age of 50. Ten acts will perform at the Paramount Theater on Saturday, February 11. A cash prize will be awarded to the winning contestant. This year’s show is being sponsored by the City of Casa Grande and Paramount Theater. Pain Free Piano for Kids Class on January 31
This class will introduce any level of piano student to The Soft Mozart Piano Program - an innovative software program that uses a revolutionary methodology. This program has been used to teach piano students in over 14 countries since 2002! Come and attend this class with your child and see how easy learning the piano can be. Fee includes a 2 week subscription to SoftMozart piano education software. For students aged 5+. (The fee is for a parent and student attending together.)

Instant Guitar Class on January 31
This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Bring your acoustic guitar. Topics include a How chords work in a song, how to form the three main types of chords, how to tune your guitar, basic strumming patterns, how to buy a good guitar (things to avoid), and how to play along with simple tunes. Required materials fee of $28 + tax will be collected in class by the instructor for workbook and practice DVD.

Men’s Basketball League Begins February 8
The men's basketball league will begin play on February 8. Games will be Wednesday nights and the league will last 7 weeks with a single elimination playoff following the regular season.

Adult Co-Rec Volleyball League Begins February 9
The co-rec volleyball league will begin play on Thursday, February 9. Matches will be Thursday evenings and the league will last 7 weeks with a single elimination playoff following the regular season. Players will call their own points/violations.

Introduction to Couples Dance Begins February 13
Have you ever thought you might like to learn how to social dance? In 3 weeks, 2 sessions each week, you can go from knowing nothing at all about social dancing to learning enough to dance to a variety of music styles. Couples are welcome. Singles of all ages are also welcome.

Instant Piano Class on February 16
Some music teachers may not want you to know this, but you don't need years of weekly lessons to learn piano. In just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. How do we do it? While regular piano teachers teach note reading, piano professionals use chords. And you can learn all the chords you'll need to play any song in this one session. Any song, any style, any key.

Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls Class on February 16
A professional painter shares her secrets to popular looks such as old world, tuscan, rustic, and suede. The first session will focus on tuscan/metallic finishes and the second session will focus on rustic/modern styles. Please come dressed to paint!
