City of Casa Grande

 

Registration for Summer Recreation and Special Interest Classes will begin Thursday, May 1 at 8:00 a.m. at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 404 E. Florence Blvd. Registrations will be taken from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thursday May 1 and Friday, May 2. We will continue to accept registrations after Monday, May 5 during normal business hours Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. as long as space is available in the classes.

 

Registration for the Aquatics Learn to Swim Classes will take place on Monday May 12 thru Thursday May 15 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 404 E. Florence Blvd. Registration and swim tests will also be held on Saturday, May 17 at Palm Island Family Aquatics Center (1115 N. Brown Ave.) from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  A swim test may be required to determine appropriate level.

 

After this time, we will continue to accept registrations for ALL classes Monday,

May 19 – Friday, May 23 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation office as long as space is available in the class.

 

 Registration will continue after May 23, for ALL Recreation and Special Interest Classes up until the date of the class as long as space is available in the class. Additional fees may apply for late registration for Special Interest Classes only.

 

For the Aquatics Learn to Swim Classes ONLY we will conduct onsite registration on the following Thursdays at Palm Island Family Aquatic Center: May 29, June 12, June 26 and July 10. If you are interested in any available morning lessons, you must register in the morning at the pool from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. If you are interested in any available evening lesson, you must register in the evening at the pool from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department Summer Recreation Activities Brochure will be mailed out to local residents the week of April 14, 2008.. If you did not receive the brochure in the mail, they are available at the following locations throughout Casa Grande: City Hall (510 E Florence Blvd.), the Parks and Recreation Office (404 E. Florence Boulevard), the Dorothy Powell Senior Adult Center (405 E. 6^th St,), the Casa Grande Public Library (449 N. Dry Lake Street) and the Chamber of Commerce after April 14. The Community Services brochure includes information on recreation and aquatics activities for pre-schoolers to seniors, Public Library activities including the Summer Reading Program and information on several community wide special events.

 

Pre-Registration is highly recommended for summer recreation and aquatics programs and is also very important for special interest classes.   Classes that do not meet the minimum registration requirement two business days prior to the first class will be canceled. There will be a $2.00 service charge per person, per class on all refunds. If a person cancels after the class begins, no refund or credit will be issued. A full refund will be granted if The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department cancels a class. For further information, contact The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department at 421-8677.
