REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 13, 2009

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CASA GRANDE CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL ADVISORY COMMITEE
HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2009 AT THE
PARKS & RECREATION OFFICE

CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 1:19 by Brian Finucane, Vice Chairperson, in the absence of Chairperson.

ROLL CALL
The following members were present:
Lana Fiems
Jan Hobbs
Donovan Kramer Jr.

Roxie Perry
Brian Finucane

Also Present:
Chad Price, City of Casa Grande Community Services Department
Sheila Chavez, City of Casa Grande Police Department
Tiffany Ashbury, City of Casa Grande Sanitation Department

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Member Jan Hobbs moved to approve minutes from the August meeting and member Donovan Kramer Jr. seconded. Motion carried.

REPORTS

Financial
Chad Price reported that the checking account balance is $ 670.66.
$ 354.79 was spent last month on softball tournament prizes.

Adopt-A-Street
We have received 21 Adopt a Street renewal contracts so far.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Softball Tournament
The softball tournament had to be postponed due to lack of participants. Possible dates for tournament are October 24th and December 5th.
Jan Hobbs motioned to reschedule the tournament for Dec 5th starting at 9 AM and Sherri Shimansky seconded. Motion carried. We will have more discussion about the tournament at our next meeting.

Essay Contest
No essays were returned to this date.

Fall Clean Up
APS is providing 600 bags for the clean up. Chad sent out a letter for bids on burritos – no response to date. Workers needed for the breakfast, Chad will send an e-mail to everyone; please respond if you can help.

NEW BUSINESS

CALL TO THE COMMITTEE

Sanitation Department
Tiffany Ashbury from Sanitation talked about recycling rules and regulations. On October 24th Sanitation and Youth Commission will conduct shredding and large cardboard pickups. Tiffany also suggested making a calendar with 12 of the entries. Board asked her to obtain estimate of cost. We will need to seek corporate sponsors to help with purchase of calendars.

KAB Retreat
We are going to have a planning & brainstorming retreat on November 14th at 8:00 AM at the Parks and Recreation Office. Breakfast will be served. Each member is asked to bring a list of items for retreat.
