2009 Electric Light Parade

Businesses, organizations, bands, scout troops, cheerleaders, chorus groups, and any other community group or individual families are welcome to join the parade!  The purpose here is to deck your entry out in lights.

Each entrant is required to provide two (2) Parade Marshals to walk with their float throughout the entire parade route.  Entrants will begin lining up at 4:00 p.m. in the parade staging area.  The parade will begin at 5:45 p.m.  The parade participants will begin their procession from Brown Street to Florence Boulevard, concluding on Florence Street to join the “Christmas on Main Street” activities.

Please no live Santas!  We will have only one live Santa and he will arrive with the Fire Department. The kids get really confused with so many Santas, so please, NO SANTAS! & No Showcase Advertising Boards Allowed.

Approximately six weeks before the event, all registered participants will receive confirmation of their entry along with a map indicating the line-up area and route and a “Parade Entry Description Form” to be completed and returned (see “Important Dates to Remember” listed below).  Parade Coordinator is responsible for knowing and communicating all correspondence associated with the event.  He/she should also be present for a mandatory pre-parade meeting at the Parks and Recreation office (see “Important Dates to Remember” listed below) and on parade night with their float.  If you have questions prior to event day, please contact Caryl Chase at (520) 421-8677, Ext. 4500 or Shayla Gunn at (520) 421-8677, Ext. 4550.  If you need general information after hours on the day of the event, you can call (520) 421-8677.  On event day after hours, parade entrants only, can call (520) 421-8677, Ext. 4500 for information.
