Join The Junk Lady! Build an art creation from recycled objects
Shari Keith, The Junk Lady, will be at the library this Monday! She will be teaching participants of all ages how to transform junk into treasure. Kids will explore new ways of using found objects and discarded materials to build unique art of their very own. Monday, June 26th

Summer Reading Program
Encourage your child to read 20minutes a day and visit your local library over the summer to receive cool prizes, attend awesome events and receive a free book at our Book Fair. Participation is FREE and helps your child prepare for the next school year!

Adult Summer Reading Program
Participants aged 18+ are welcome to sign up for the Adult Summer Reading Program at either library. Discover new activities, library services, and more. Completion of the Build a Better World program automatically enters participants in our give-a-way prizes in July!
Apps for You
This class at the Vista Grande Library covers many of the popular apps that are available on Android, iPhone/iPad, and Windows devices. Smart tablets or smart phones highly recommended for the class.
Wednesday, June 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm.
This class at the Main Library covers the basics of using your Kindle Fire (it doesn’t cover the black and white Kindle). App management, how it is organized, the control panel, and the settings are some of the topics covered. A registered Kindle Fire is required for the class. Thursday, June 29 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Family Storytime and Craft at Main
The whole family is welcome to join Youth Librarian, Ms. Julie, for a short program with stories and songs followed by a craft. Parents/guardians are required. Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Tween Gaming at Vista
New Day and Time! Bring the kids down to the Vista Grande Public Library for a variety of video games and board games. Program meets during the Summer Reading Program on Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. Program is intended for children ages 7-12. Parents are required to remain in the library for children under the age of 12.
The Escape Room Game for Teens at Vista
What are “Escape the Room” games? Players are “locked” in a room and must uncover clues and hidden objects to escape. Spend some time uncovering the secret. Find clues, solve puzzles and escape before time runs out! Participants can sign-up teams for up to 6 players; there must be at least one teen (grades 6-12) in the group. Each team gets 2 hours to complete the task. Every Wednesday during the Summer Reading Program. Times Slots available: 9:00-11:00 a.m., 11:30-1:30 p.m. or 2:00-4:00 p.m. Call the Vista Grande Library at 520-421-8652 to reserve a time.
Storytime at Vista
Join Mr. David for stories, rhymes, songs, educational play, and a puppet show! Preschool Storytime begins at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Toddler Storytime begins at 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays.
Lego Club at Main
Promoting play contributes to early literacy development by increasing attention span, memory, creativity, language and vocabulary skills. The Main Library LEGO Club will meet every Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. during the Summer Reading Program. Parents are required for children that need supervision.
Family Movies at Vista
The whole family is invited to the Vista Grande Public Library Thursdays this Summer at 10:15 am for silly cartoons and the best family films of the year. Popcorn will be provided. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by a parent.
Teen Makers in the Makerspace at Vista
Come be crafty: Projects will include upcycling, duct tape projects, Jewelry Making, String Art, making stickers and more! Thursdays during the Summer Reading Program from 1:00 -2:30 p.m.
Drop-in Craft at Main
Kids are welcome to ‘drop-in’ to the Main Library anytime between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. each Thursday during Summer Reading and complete a craft project to take home. Parents/guardians are required to assist their children. Crafts generally take about 15 – 20 minutes to complete.
Movies and Grub for Teens at Vista
Teens you can spend an afternoon in the cool kicking back, watching a movie and munching on snacks that you get to make yourself! Fridays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Vista Grande Library.
Free Friday Flick at Main
Join us each Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library for a newly released movie (PG rating). Popcorn and a drink will be served. Parents are required to remain in the Library during this program.
First Things First Fun Van
The Fun Van is a FREE program for parents/grandparents/caregivers and accompanying children ages 0-5 years old. This program can foster a love of books by developing a habit of reading with your child from a variety of quality literature you borrow and return each week. It also teaches parents reading strategies to expand their child’s thinking and promotes language and literacy development. Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. at Vista Grande Library and at the Main Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
