Library Buddies at Main
Join us for our morning playgroup today; Monday, March 27th at 10:00a.m. We will be sharing picture books on NOOK eReaders, playing with Brain Boxes, cars, Play-Doh, blocks, etc. Simple snack provided for kids.
Maker Monday at Vista
Join Mr. David on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. for a reoccurring Makerspace class featuring video game design projects, art projects, and a variety of educational iPad apps. Registration and a signed Makerspace Agreement are required. To register contact the Vista Grande Public Library at (520) 421-8652.
Preschool Storytime at Main
Join Youth Librarian, Miss Julie, as we read books, sing songs and do activities each week based on a fun theme. Storytime will be followed by either a simple craft or a snack. Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Tween Tuesdays at Main
Bring your kids down to the Main Library after school each Tuesday from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. for a variety of age appropriate video games, science kits, puzzles and more.
Youth 3D Printing Class
Join 3D Printing Expert David Wright for a 3D printing class that teaches the basics of 3D modeling and design for children ages 8 +. A signed makerspace agreement and registration are required. To register call the Vista Grande Public Library at (520) 421-8652. Tuesdays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
Tween Gaming at Vista
Vista Grande Library will host Tween Gaming every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. The gaming includes a variety of video games, board games, and art and science activities. Ages: 7 – 13 are welcome.
Storytime at Vista
Join Mr. David for stories, rhymes, songs, educational play and a puppet show! Preschool Storytime begins at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Toddler Storytime starts at 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays.
Kid’s SciTech Club
Join Mr. Jacob for a robotics, technology, and coding club afterschool on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. in the Makerspace at Vista Grande. The program is intended for children ages 7-12. Parents must be present in the library for children under the age of 12. Class is limited to 12 students. To register please contact the Vista Grande Public Library at (520) 421–8652.
Yoga for Kids
There is no better way to engage your child than through the simple practice of yoga. Yoga can help your three to five-year-old child have fewer tantrums, better sleep, increased motor coordination, improved ability to follow directions, and easier relaxation. Join us Fridays at the Main Library for a very basic 30 minute yoga class. Mats will be provided for the children. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring water. Class begins promptly at 9:15a.m.
Now at Vista and Main; First Things First Fun Van
The Fun Van is a FREE program for parents/grandparents/caregivers and accompanying children ages 0-5 years old. This program can foster a love of books by developing a habit of reading with your child from a variety of quality literature you borrow and return each week. It also teaches parents reading strategies to expand their child’s thinking and promotes language and literacy development. Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. at Vista Grande Library and a new later time at the Main Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Code Club at Main
Join Mr. Jacob for a Code Club designed just for kids. Kids will use scratch programming to make and design their own computer games. Program is intended for children ages 7-12. Saturdays at the Main Library from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
The Lounge for Teens
In partnership with The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley, a teen afterschool program is offered at the Vista Grande Library Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. All high school students are welcome.
Tuesdays feature a Trivia Challenge.
Wednesdays offer a drop-in craft.
Thursdays Teen Gaming Tournaments are held.
Teen Coloring Book Club at Vista
Teens can come in, bring their lunch, color, talk and let us know what they are reading. ARCS of young adult books will be given out to attendees. Two sessions will be held each Monday, 11:20-11:50 a.m. and 12:25-12:55 p.m. Space is limited to 10 participants per session. No registration required- first come, first serve.
Medicine Cabinet Series Final Meeting
Join us at the Main Library for the final in a series of open, informal meetings with Mr. Keith Miller, Pharm. D. The series will answer common questions about medications, vitamins and supplements. Free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring at least one medical question they would like to have answered. Monday, March 27th at Noon.

Documentary Series at Main: Dick Cavett’s Watergate
From 1972 to 1974, the Watergate scandal was frequently a part of “The Dick Cavett Show.” In Fact, Cavett was at the forefront of national TV coverage, interviewing nearly every major Watergate figure as the crisis unfolded. With exclusive access to the archive of the show, Dick Cavett’s Watergate documents the scandal in the words of the people who lived it. Tuesday, April 4th at 1:30 p.m. at the Main Library.
Literati Season Finale
The finale of our umbrella theme: The Life of a Reader: Cradle to the Grave. The Literati Adult Book Club will be celebrating End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schalbe at J. Warren Gardens. Wednesday, April 5th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
